[K-Policy] [Coming Up] 2026 Support for Multicultural Children’s Education Activities
Coming Up in April, 2026 Education Support Guide
Hi everyone! It's your 88한 열매맘, the working mom in Seoul👋
Especially for our global families living in Korea, navigating the education system while managing the costs of extracurricular activities can be a real challenge.
Based on the 2025 success, the "Support for Multicultural Children’s Education Activities" (다문화가족 자녀 교육활동비 지원) is expected to return in April 2026! This policy is designed to bridge the educational gap and help your kids dream big. Let’s look at the "money" and "eligibility" for your child's bright future! 🌟✨
[Eligibility] Who can apply?
The eligibility focus remains on low-income multicultural families to ensure that the support reaches those who need it most.
- Age Limit: Children and youth aged 7 to 18 years old (born between 2008 and 2019).
- Note: This includes children who are not currently enrolled in school but fall within this age range.
- Family Structure: Multicultural families as defined by the "Multicultural Families Support Act."
- For Global Families: One parent must be a Korean national, or the child must be a Korean national living with a foreign parent holding an ARC (Alien Registration Card). 🌏
- Income Criteria: Household income must be 100% or less of the Standard Median Income (기준중위소득).

Applying based on your Health Insurance Premium (건강보험료) is usually the easiest way to check!

88한 열매맘's Pro Tips: Expert Insights
As a team leader who manages many tasks at once, here are my Expert Tips for this policy:
Tip 1: The "April" Rush. Application periods are often divided into two rounds. The 1st round usually starts in late April or early May. Apply early to get your points faster! 🏃♀️💨
Tip 2: Double-Check your Card. The points are specifically linked to NH Nonghyup. If you only have a credit card from another bank, it won't work. Make sure your NH account is active!
Tip 3: Education Gap Advantage. This isn't just for school supplies. Use it for Certifications (자격증)! If your child is in high school, using the 600,000 KRW for a computer or language certification fee is a great investment for their resume. 💻📈
Tip 4: For Global Parents. The Family Centers offer translation support for your application process. 🗣️🌍
